The District Administration Offices of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have extended the ongoing prohibitory orders by 15 days.

The prohibitory orders have been extended till May 27, as per the decision made at the joint meeting of the chief district officers of all the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley.

The prohibitory orders in the Valley were first enforced on April 29 for a week and later extended by another seven days. This is the third time that the restrictions are being extended.

The meeting has also decided to tighten the restrictions and stop all construction works except the national priority development projects.

The meeting has also decided to stop wedding, bratbandha, weaning and other religious programmes at banquet as well as party palaces, and to not allow more than 10 people to participate in such programs at home.
