The government has decided to impose a complete restriction in the entry of vehicles into the Kathmandu Valley from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am following rapid spread of coronavirus inside the Valley post lockdown.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday issued a press release informing about the Ministry’s decision to ban the entry of all types of vehicles, except cargo and essential service vehicles, coming from other districts into the Valley from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

The ministry took the decision after a number of people entering the Valley from various districts were found positive for coronavirus infection after the government started to conduct tests at the three entry points of the Valley.

“The restriction will come into effect every evening from 7 pm to 7 am next morning,” according to undersecretary and information officer at the Ministry of Home Affairs Umakanta Adhikari.

The Ministry has also instructed all District Administration Offices outside the Valley not to issue inter-district vehicle passes allowing the vehicles to enter the capital.
