Nepal celebrates Constitution Day

Nepal is celebrating Constitution Day and National Day 2081 BS today.

President Ram Chandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli along with other high level dignitaries attended state celebrations at Tundikhel where Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force presented cultural performances.

Later this evening, President Paudel has organized an event at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas. Additionally, a musical program has been arranged on the road in front of the Narayanhiti Palace this evening. As per the Prime Minister’s secretariat Prime Minister Oli will also attend the event.

The Constitution of Nepal, which was adopted on September 20, 2015 (Ashoj 3, 2072 BS), represents a landmark achievement after decades of struggle for democracy and justice. With 35 parts, 308 articles, and 9 schedules, it established Nepal as a federal democratic republic, emphasizing principles of inclusion, secularism, and proportional representation.
