Maiti Nepal organized a candlelight vigil in Gaushala of Kathmandu on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, to mark the eve of World AIDS Day.

The theme for this year’s World AIDS Day is “Equalize” which is a call to action for all of us to address inequalities and help end AIDS.

Volunteers at the vigil drew a red ribbon symbolizing solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS. One minute of silence was observed during the event in remembrance of the people who have lost their lives to the disease.

World AIDS Day, celebrated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
