Scrap traders staged a demonstration against the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Sunday, marching from the UN Park in Buddhanagar to Ratnapark via Tripureshwar and Sundhara.

Upon reaching Ratnapark, the protest transformed into a rally assembly.

Protesters brandished placards bearing slogans such as “Let the poor eat, stop bulldozers on scrap, enforce the rule of law, stop the metropolis’s reign of terror.”

They accused KMC of suppressing scrap traders and instilling fear, particularly condemning the recent use of bulldozers at the scrap collection center.
