Nirmala Kurmi disappearance case: 8 activists including Ruby Khan detained

Protesters, along with Ruby Khan, demanding justice for Nirmala Kurmi, were arrested today at Maitighar Mandala. They were detained while attempting to enter the Singhadurbar area. The police arrested eight people during the incident.

Nirmala Kurmi’s case dates back to 2062 BS when her husband passed away in Nepalgunj-17, Banke. Four years later, in 2066 BS, her two sons died mysteriously within ten days of each other. Following these events, Badshah Kurmi, a Nepali Congress leader, allegedly transferred Nirmala’s property to his name, promising to safeguard it. In 2075 BS, Nirmala went missing, and it is suspected that she was killed after being kidnapped.
