Families of Nepali soldiers in Russian Army protest at Singha Durbar, 16 arrested

Families of Nepali soldiers serving in the Russian army staged a protest today at the south gate of Singha Durbar, demanding better protection for their families.

The demonstrators, carrying placards, urged action to locate those out of contact in Russia, retrieve the bodies of the deceased, and aid stranded individuals.

Amidst the protest, police detained 16 individuals, including a mother with her eighteen month old child. Kritu Bhandari, an activist advocating for the safety of civilians enlisted in the Russian army was also detained during the protest.
