Activists are protesting and demanding the re-imprisonment of Yograj Dhakal (Regal), who was granted amnesty by the government on Constitution Day.

On Wednesday, women’s rights activists along with others staged a protest calling for the revocation of his amnesty and his subsequent imprisonment.

Bharati Manandhar, the wife of Chetan Manandhar, who was murdered by Dhakal, has been on a hunger strike since October 4th.

The Supreme Court has already issued an order to show cause addressed to the government and the President’s office.

Activist Anju KC Shrestha stated that this incident violated the constitution.

Chetan Manandhar was killed on July 13, 2015, in Nepalgunj by a group including Dhakal at Nepalgunj.
