Dharan launches extensive ‘Search & Destroy’ campaign for Dengue prevention

In an effort to address the dengue outbreak in Dharan, an extensive “search and destroy” campaign has been initiated throughout all the wards of the sub-metropolitan city.

On 30th June an expert team from Koshi Province, in collaboration with the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division in Kathmandu and the Provincial Health Directorate in Dhankuta, arrived and conducted dengue testing, and confirmed the cases of dengue infection.

The subsequent statistics provided by the sub-metropolis validate the spread of dengue infection across all 20 wards.

Based on recorded data from June 25 to 28, a total of 241 dengue cases were confirmed among 778 people tested. One death in the month of June has also been confirmed.
