A two-day vaccination campaign against coronavirus has been launched in all 10 local levels of Khotang district from today.

Citizens that have received their first dose and those who are yet to be vaccinated will be inoculated during the drive.

According to Phanindra Dahal, Chief District Officer and Coordinator of District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) Khotang, the District Health Office has sent the jabs as well as all necessary health supplies to the local levels.

One of the vaccination centers is the District Hospital, while the Diktel Rupakot-Majhuwagadhi Municipality is deploying health workers for the vaccination drive.

Punya Prasad Sikdel, head of the Khotang District Health Office, said that Covishield and Vero Cell vaccines will be administered during the two-day campaign.

Khotang district, which has two municipalities and eight villages, has administered the first dose of vaccine against coronavirus to 74,774 people and both doses to 40,979 people so far.

Meanwhile, Dhanusha district of Province 2 is all set to vaccinate local residents above 18 years of age against COVID-19 from December 10 to 14. The Dhanusha District Health Office informed that Vero Cell would be administered to people aged 18 and above across the district for five days starting from December 10.

Rajdev Yadav, Vaccine officer at the Health Office, said that the locals would be inoculated from the 631 vaccination centers set up in all 18 local levels of the district. He informed that one health worker and two assistants were deployed in all 169 local levels of the district to conduct the vaccination campaign.

“We have also appointed vaccine supervisor at all centers,” Yadav said, adding that the Office has targeted to inoculate 100,000 people. Moreover, Chief of the Dhanusha Health Office Yugal Kishor Yadav requested everyone to get vaccinated without any hesitance.
