At least eight people have been killed after a passenger bus veered off the Prithivi Highway and plunged into the Trishuli River on Wednesday. The bus, travelling from Kathmandu to Pokhara met with an accident near Gajuri of Dhading District.

The exact number of passengers on the bus is yet  to be ascertained. However, a  joint rescue operation by Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army is ongoing. Police have said more than fifteen people have been rescued. Eight people, who are reported to have sustained injuries are receiving treatment.
