A government officer, Khagendra Sapkota, has been arrested from Nepalgunj Airport with a bag with Rs. 2.6 million. Sapkota, a tax officer working at the Inland Revenue Office in Tulsipur, Dang, was detained during the check at the airport.
He has been taken into control for further investigation. SP Santosh Singh Rathore stated that Deepak Paudel, Sapkota’s co-conspirator, escaped.
According to the police, the two were together for 3-4 days at Dolpa and were traveling to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj via a Shree Airlines flight. The search for the absconding accused is ongoing.
