Over 1700 reported cases of dengue in Sankhuwasabha

In Sankhuwasabha, 1,710 confirmed cases of dengue have emerged.

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division organized a program in Khandbari, urging local representatives to intensify efforts.

While Dengue is prominent during the Monsoon seasons, it can also occur in winter in some areas with mild temperatures. Experts state that changing climates can have an impact on disease prevalence, and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), global warming, urbanization, problems with sanitation, and other factors are benefitting mosquitos.

A study published in Lancet Planetary Health found that rising global temperatures could lengthen transmission seasons of dengue by a further four months over the next 50 years.
