Mukunda Rijal, ward chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City -16 passed away this morning. Rijal was admitted to Grande International Hospital on 3rd of September as he suffered from viral pneumonia owing to a severe case of dengue. According to the hospital director Dr. Binod Bijukchhe, Rijal passed away this morning at 7:30. He was undergoing treatment at ICU and ventilator for the past four days.
His body will be kept at the City Hall from 11 am and before being taken to Pashupatinath Aryaghat for final rites.
Elected as the Ward Chairperson for KMC-16 twice, Rijal also served as the coordinator of the infrastructure committee under the city executive.
