Since mid-July, a total of 17 individuals have succumbed to dengue, and 30,330 people have been afflicted with the disease in the Koshi province. Sunsari district has witnessed the highest incidence of dengue infections, with 13 fatalities and 19,432 cases reported during the same period, as stated by Bibechana Chamlagain, Public Health Officer of the Koshi Province Health Directorate in Dhankuta.

Dengue infections have emerged in all 14 districts of the Koshi province. Morang has recorded 4,242 cases of dengue, resulting in one fatality. Jhapa has reported 2,964 confirmed cases and two fatalities, while Udayapur has also experienced one dengue-related death.

Patients with dengue receive medical care at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Sunsari and public and private hospitals in other districts. The number of infected individuals in various districts is as follows: Terhathum 211, Panchthar 338, Ilam 535, Udayapur 816, Dhankuta 432, Bhojpur 331, Sankhuwasabha 867, Okhaldhunga 40, Taplejung 33, Khotang 45, and Solukhumbu 20.

In response to the dengue outbreak, all local governments in the province have initiated anti-dengue campaigns.
