A 41 year old male has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a minor. According to Nepal Police, Datta Singh Buda has been taken into custody on charges of sexually abusing an eight year old girl repeatedly from Ashar (mid-July) to 26 Shrawan (11th August). Datta Singh is the director of Bless House and Child Care  Centre in Bungamati, Lalitpur and the victim was taking shelter at the same child care centre.

Police apprehended the accused after hearing a complaint in which the victim added that she would be physically beaten when she would try to resist the sexual advances. The victim has been placed in protective care.

Lalitpur District Court has remanded Dutta Singh in custody for an additional seven days to allow Nepal Police continue their investigation.
