Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Ashok Kumar Rai, presented a bill to House of Representatives (HoR) to comprehensively reform and consolidate the laws pertaining to School Education Bill 2080.

According to Minister Rai, the Bill emphasizes citizens’ fundamental right to education and clarifies educational jurisdictions across government tiers.

The bill mandates that teachers should not be affiliated with any political party, seek votes from individuals, or oppose any particular group. The government has ensured the right of trade unions of teachers through the bill. The bill also emphasizes Mother Tongue Education, Monastery, Vihar, and Madrasa Subjects.

Minister Rai also urged the HoR for support in endorsing the bill.
