In the Churiyamai area of Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city-22, located in Bara district, a tragic incident occurred as a bus transporting pilgrims was involved in an accident, resulting in the loss of a minimum of seven lives.

According to DSP Pradip Bahadur Chhetri at Area Police Office, Simara, among the seven casualties, four were women and three were men. Notably, six of the deceased were Indian nationals, while one was a Nepali citizen.

The bus, carrying a total of 27 passengers, including the driver, plunged into the river, situated 100 meters south of Churiyamai Temple at 1 AM Wednesday night. As a result of the accident, at least 19 individuals sustained injuries, and they are currently receiving medical treatment at Churehill Hospital and Hetauda Hospital, as confirmed by DSP Chhetri.
