Aarti Giri, the wife of district judge Bhuwan Giri, has filed a case against her husband Bhuwan Giri for marital rape, and attempted self-immolation outside the Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday afternoon.

Aarti was stopped by law enforcement to prevent the incident after she had poured the kerosene on herself.

Bhuwan Giri was arrested in April 2023. According to Setopati, Aarti had initially gone to the police in November 2022 but the police had refused to lodge the complaint.
