Wheelchair Race organised to observe International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Photos)

Individuals with disabilities compete in a wheelchair race held at Swayambhu to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, in Kathmandu, on Thursday, December 2, 2021. 
The race was organised by the Nepal Spinal Cord Injury Sports Association (NSCISA) and Upability Foundation.  In the female category Yami Jhakri Magar,Aishwarya Kumal and Rajani Rai stood first, second and third respectively whereas in the men’s categoryRamesh Khatri stood first and Arjun Tamang, Ramkaji Magar stood second and third respectively. 
 
“We conduct this race every year to empower and uplift individuals with disabilities in the society.” says Ranjita Sharma, member of the Upability Foundation.
