Two more cases of cholera confirmed in Kathmandu Valley

Two more people have been diagnosed with cholera in Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022. With two cases being confirmed earlier this week, Kathmandu Valley’s total cases of cholera now stands at 4 infections. All four are undergoing treatment at the Teku based Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH).

According to the hospital, the two new confirmed cases are from Sanepa, Lalitpur and Kapan, Kathmandu respectively. The earlier two cases were confirmed in residents of Bagbazar, Kathmandu.

Health experts and the Ministry of Health and Population continue to warn valley residents of an outbreak, and have urged emphasis on proper sanitation. They have asked residents to pay attention to hygiene, and to ensure intake of clean water and food.
