Sita Dahal, wife of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) passed away in Kathmandu today morning. According to a report by Norvic Hospital, 69 year old Sita Dahal was brought into the hospital on Wednesday morning after her oxygen levels decreased. “She went into cardiac aest at 08:00 AM. Despite resuscitation, she could not be revived and declared death at 08:33 AM”, the hospital announcement reads.
Sita Dahal was a patient of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and suffered from Parkinson’s disease and hypertension.
It has also been reported that Sita Dahal’s final rites will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat (cremation place) at 2 PM today. Her body will be placed in the CPN Maoist Centre’s party headquarter at Perisdanda from 11 am to 1 pm for final condolences.
