Singhadurbar stops use of LPG cylinders within its premises from today

Kathmandu, August 17

Starting today, it is now prohibited to carry or use cooking gas (LPG) cylinders inside Singhadurbar. LPGs will be replaced by electric stoves in the canteens of all ministries and its agencies.

The move is according to the government’s announcement in the budget for the financial year 2022/23, to encourage the use of electricity. The government has said it will start from within the Singhadurbar.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply had written to all the ministries and agencies within the Singha Durbar and instructed them to implement effectively and replace the gas cylinders by the end of the Nepali month of Shrawan.
