Simrik Air chopper crashes in Sankhuwasabha, 4 injured one dead

A helicopter of Simrik Air crashed at Bhotkhola, Sankhuwasabha district after the chopper collided with trees at 1:10 pm today.

District Police Office informed that one died and 4 others were injured in the accident. The deceased is identified as Bhawin Gurung, a local resident.

The helicopter was carrying the materials of the Arun Hydropower Project and Gurung was assisting the crew members in loading and unloading the materials.

Meanwhile, Captain Surendra Paudel, crew members Tshering Bhote and Manoj Thapa and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Bikram Shankar have sustained serious injuries and have been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.

The crash location is two hours of walking distance from the motorable areas; hence, it took a while to know about the incident, police informed.
