Police ban group pedestrian gathering around Singha Durbar

The police have implemented a ban on pedestrian activity along the footpaths surrounding the Singha Durbar, delineating it as a restricted zone.

A rope barrier has been installed.

While individual pedestrian activity is still permitted around the parliament building in New Baneshwar, group gatherings have been prohibited by the authorities.

This decision comes after a group of frustrated microfinance victims breached the Federal Parliament gates in New Baneshwor on Monday.

Following the incident, the Ministry of Home Affairs removed 32 security personnel, including the police inspector responsible for external security, from their duties and a new team was deployed.
