Nepal expresses solidarity with China on coronavirus outbreak

Nepal has expressed solidarity with China’s efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus at a time when the world is reeling due to the virus’s outbreak.

Speaking at a program organized by ‘Friends of Silk Road: Trans Himalayan Development Center’ in Kathmandu yesterday, Minister of Land management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal assured that China would overcome the battle against coronavirus.

Minister Aryal also requested all and sundry to normalize the issue instead of sensitizing it.

Also speaking at the program, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi said that China was making an all out effort to curb the outbreak.

Meanwhile, around 242 people died due to the novel coronavirus in the Chinese province of Hubei on Wednesday alone. There was also a huge increase in the number of cases, with 14,840 people diagnosed with the virus.

The new cases and deaths in the province have pushed the national death toll above 1,350 – with almost 60,000 infections in total.
