NC disrupts budget meeting on Friday

The first meeting of the budget session in the parliament was disrupted by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress. The scheduled commencement of the session was already delayed by 2 hours on Friday as the Congress voiced its disagreement and was adjourned for 15 minutes.

NC’s primary demand centered around the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate allegations implicating Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane in a cooperative fraud case.

Despite efforts to restore order and proceed with the session, the Congress members persisted in their protests, chanting slogans and reiterating their call for a thorough investigation into the allegations against Lamichhane.
