Musahar community struggling to cope with harsh cold

The Musahar community in Devchuli Municipality-2 faces severe cold, with about 113 households vulnerable due to plummeting temperatures. Reliant on daily wages, this community is considered one of the most held-back in the country.

Community members have expressed the lack of both clothes and food to endure the harsh cold, mentioning that managing two meals a day has been difficult. Their dwellings are hut-like, with open doors and windows, with unemployment exacerbating their struggles.

Following this, Mayor Hari Prasad Neupane has promised swift action, and stated that his office will immediately provide warm clothes and food to the Musahar settlement, along with planned programs to improve the financial status of the Musahar people.
