Lockdown extended till May 7; one more case confirmed

The government has decided to extend the nation-wide lockdown till May 7 (Baishakh 25). A meeting of the High-Level Committee formed for the prevention and control of COVID-19 today made the decision to this effect.

The committee concluded that the lockdown has been effective in controlling the spread of coronavirus and hence decided to extend it.

Meanwhile, one more case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Jhapa, taking the total national tally to 52.

The infected is a 50-year-old male. His swab sample was tested at Koshi Zonal Hospital in Biratnagar.

He is a resident of Rajgadh in Jhapa and his health condition is reported to be stable.
