A group of businessmen operating at Kathmandu Mall gathered in front of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office to protest against assault by the KMC police.

According to Sridhar Pokharel, one of the affected businessmen, despite having a year left on their contract with the metropolis, they were subjected to violence through the deployment of city police.

Pokharel asserted that the metropolis police personnel, in defiance of a court order, allegedly assaulted the businessmen and made arrests.

The businessmen are demanding an inquiry into the alleged assault and arrests, emphasizing that their businesses have been operating within the terms of their contract with the metropolis.
