Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has provided a 24-hour ultimatum to remove all the unauthorized structures built in the Pashupati area by encroaching on public land.

A team of KMC officials inspected the encroached structures and issued an ultimatum with instructions to remove those structures, informed Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) spokesperson Revatiraman Adhikari.

During the inspection, the metropolis found that Gaushala Dharamshala had built structures without obtaining a building construction permit from the KMC.

10 ropani of land, belonging to PADT, was leased to Gaushala Dharamshala for 50,000 rupees per annum. Likewise, the inspecting officials found that more than 20 shutters in the area were operating without registration.

“The metropolis has not formally informed us regarding it, but we have heard that they have given a 24-hour ultimatum to remove structures constructed on encroached land in the Pashupati area,” said Adhikari.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the trust had requested Kathmandu metropolis to remove structures illegally constructed without informing and encroaching on the land belonging to PADT.
