Flooding affects more than 1,600 people in Kanchanpur

Incessant rains have triggered severe flooding in Kanchanpur, submerging numerous settlements across the district. The District Police Office reported that the Mahakali and Jogbuda Rivers overflowed, inundating three settlements in Dodhara Chandani Municipality-10.

Among the worst-affected areas are Kutiyakabhar of Jogbuda and Shanti Tole and Lisani Tole of Wari, where floodwaters have caused significant damage.

Additionally, Bhimdutta Municipality, Bedkot, Shuklaphanta, Krishnapur Municipality, and several southern settlements of Kanchanpur are experiencing extensive flooding.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Umesh Joshi, spokesperson for the District Police Office, confirmed that rescue operations are underway. So far, 1,622 flood-affected individuals have been evacuated to safer locations.
