The Supreme Court is conducting the final hearing in the case of rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane today.

The bench of Justice Shankar Bahadur Rai will hear the case of Lamichhane who is on trial for the rape of a minor.

On September 6, 2022, a case was filed against Lamichhane, accusing him of raping a 17-year-old girl. After going missing for a month, Lamichhane arrived in Nepal and surrendered himself to Nepal Police on October 6.

On January 11, 2023, Lamichhane was released by the Patan High Court on a bail of Rs 2 million but was restricted from going abroad.

However, on February 27, the Supreme Court allowed Lamichhane to go abroad to play for the Nepal cricket team.

Meanwhile, a group of youths staged a protest in Maitighar in support of Lamichhane.
