Fifth person in Nepal with COVID-19 passes away, test results arrive post death

A man who passed away in KIST Medical College located at Lalitpur on Wednesday has tested positive for coronavirus infection COVID-19.

The man, said to be suffering from Alcoholic Liver Disease, was first taken to Patan Hospital after having seizures from where he was referred to KIST Hospital.

According to an official of Hospital, the man’s swab sample was collected and taken to Patan Hospital Laboratory for coronavirus testing on May 24 – the day he was admitted.

“The deceased took his last breath at 4:05pm on Wednesday but his test result arrived only after 8pm same day.” he said.

However, Ministry of Health and Population hasn’t issued a statement confirming the case.
