Chinese national dies in a street brawl in Kathmandu

A street fight took place between three Chinese nationals in Indrachowk market, Kathmandu on Sunday.

According to police, the preliminary investigation showed that they had an argument first and as the argument turned into a fight, one of them stabbed the other two people with knife.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson of District Police Range Kathmandu, said that the person who started to attack the sharp weapon was 37-year-old Peng Zheng Yun.

He said that 32-year-old Li Zuan and 29-year-old Gan Zhao Jiong were injured by Zheng Yun’s attack. Zhao Jiong died while undergoing treatment.

According to the police, two others were seriously injured in the incident. Zuan has a deep injury in his stomach due to which he is unable to speak. Zhao Jiong suffered injuries to his stomach, chest and head.

A team of police personnel from Janasewa Sector Office, New Road rescued the injured and took them to the National Trauma Center of Bir Hospital.

“One of the injured is being treated at the trauma center,” SP Mainali said. “We have taken Zheng Yun under control.”
