The police arrested the Chief of the Domestic Terminal Unit (DTU) of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Purna Chudal on Monday.

A few days ago, the CIAA received information that officials of the domestic terminal of TIA are involved in bribery.

Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) carried out a sting operation at the domestic terminal today after receiving the information about a financial transaction taking place at Chudal’s office.

During the raid, CIAA recovered 9 bottles of expensive liquor, Rs. 800,000 in cash and 4 smartphones from domestic terminal chief Chudal’s office.

The CIAA initiated an investigation with the support of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala.
