Bara DAO issues prohibitory order as 40 people including RM chair test positive for COVID-19

The District Administration Office of Bara has issued a prohibitory order in Devatal Rural Municipality after community spread of COVID-19 was confirmed in the area.

The order is said to remain in effect until further notice.

As many as 40 persons, including the rural municipality’s chair, vice-chair, a ward chair and 17 health workers tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

The community spread was confirmed by Bara District COVID-19 Focal person Shankar Prasad Gupta.

On Sunday alone, 46 from Bara had tested positive for COVID-19. Of them, 11 are females.

Bara CDO Rudra Prasad Pandit said that a prohibitory order was issued in the rural municipality and its adjoining areas after detection of COVID cases in large numbers.

As per the prohibitory order, all businesses and human movement will be restricted except vehicles carrying essential goods.
