Banke issues prohibitory order for three days

The local administration in Banke has issued a prohibitory order effective for the next three days from today in the district.

Coronavirus Crisis Management Center took the decision after 30 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Banke in a single day during PCR tests conducted at government offices and local communities.

Chief District Officer, Ram Bahadur Kurumba, said the order had been issued in order to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.
Only essential services including health and security as well as delivery of daily products and drinking water, electricity, waste management, pharmacies, grocery, and fuel stations will operate for three days.

Contract tracing of the 30 infected persons has completed and swab samples of additional 423 people have been collected for PCR testing.

High alert has been adopted after employees at the Inland Revenue Office and Transport Management Office were found infected with the virus.

So far, 437 have tested positive to coronavirus in Banke with two deaths.
