After Kathmandu, Pokhara metropolis joins the move to ban Indian movies amid ‘Adipurush’ row

Following the decision of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), the Pokhara Metropolitan City has also enforced a ban on the screening of Indian films in the city.

The decision comes after the Adipurush dialogue controversy that states Goddess Sita was born in India.

Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya made an announcement, on Sunday, directing cinema halls in the Pokhara city to stop screening of all Bollywood films starting from Monday morning.

All cinema halls in Kathmandu have stopped screening all Bollywood films since Sunday.

On Thursday evening, KMC Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) had warned via social media that no Indian film will be allowed to be screened in the capital if the dialogue from the ‘Adipurush’ movie was not removed.
