22 activists arrested during sit-in at Maitighar

22 human rights activists were arrested during a sit-in protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu.

The demonstration was organized by the Human Rights and Peace Society to demand the formation of a credible judicial inquiry commission concerning the Ncell share sale case.

Activists, including ‘Human Rights and Peace Society’ leaders like Founding Chairperson Krishna Pahadi and Chairperson Ramkrishna Baral, were arrested.

The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) had extended the restriction of public gatherings at different places including Maitighar Mandala.

The activists are held at the Singha Durbar Police Circle, awaiting legal proceedings.
