The Ministry of Health and Population has officially confirmed another death owing to COVID-19 infection.
According to the ministry, the 57-year-old man was permanent resident of Khandaha-4, Malarani municipality who died on the way to his home while returning from treatment in Butwal on Wednesday.
He was rushed to Lumbini Provincial Hospital after he showed respiratory problems.
He died on Wednesday but his coronavirus report arrived on Thursday – a day after his death.
The man is said to be arrived from Maharashtra, India 12 days ago. The ministry has stated that preparations are being made to cremate his body.
At a regular media briefing of the Health Ministry, spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam confirmed the news. With this, the coronavirus death toll has reached 16.
