16 foreign nationals rescued from Lukla

A total of 16 foreign tourists have been rescued from Lukla Airport today.

The tourists were left stranded due to the nation-wide lockdown enforced to contain COVID-19.

A chartered plane belonging to Tara Air had flown to Lukla from the Tribhuwan International Airport to rescue the tourists, including six French nationals. They have been kept at a hotel nearby TIA.

Similarly, a chartered plane of Buddha air is reportedly flying to Pokhara to rescue 47 French nationals.
