“From Jeans to Dreams: Upcycling for Education” by Chakraviu Nepal

Chakraviu Nepal, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing holistic and quality education in Nepal, has introduced an initiative called, “From Jeans to Dreams: Upcycling for Education.” The project aims to repurpose old jeans into durable school bags for underprivileged students in Southern Lalitpur, Nepal, in collaboration with Nhu Designs.

To encourage community involvement, Chakraviu organized a competition at Kathmandu University in partnership with Hult Prize at KU to donate old jeans.

Samek Palikhel, Founder and CEO at Chakraviu Nepal, stated, “We believe in the power of education and sustainable practices to uplift communities. ‘From Jeans to Dreams’ combines both elements, creating a tangible impact on the lives of underprivileged students while promoting eco-friendly initiatives.”

The project aligns with five Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addressing issues such as quality education, responsible consumption, reduced inequalities, and climate action.
