68 people were confirmed dead after a domestic passenger plane with 72 aboard crashed into Seti River gorge, Pokhara on Sunday.

The bodies of 26 passengers on board the Yeti Airlines aircraft have been identified, according to District Police Office Kaski spokesperson Gyan Bahadur Khadka.

Khadka informed that the relatives of the identified deceased have been requested to receive the bodies.

Assistant CDO Shahi shared that although three other bodies were noticed, rescuers are having a tough time retrieving the remaining bodies due to the challenging topography of the crash site.

Yesterday’s crash, one of the deadliest airplane accidents in Nepal and the second one within a year, highlights the country’s poor air safety record.
