President Bhandari approves Nepali Army mobilization for November elections

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has approved the mobilization of Nepali Army for the upcoming elections for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly to be held on November 20.

According to a spokesperson for the President’s Office, Sagar Acharya, the move was based on recommendations of the Council of Ministers and a letter from Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

President Bhandari granted approval for the deployment of the army in accordance with Article 66, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal to conduct the election in a free, fair and peaceful environment.
