More than 100 lives lost as disaster response falls short

Hundreds of people have lost their lives to natural disasters. Despite the government’s annual proclamations of improved preparedness and disaster management strategies, the reality on the ground tells a different story. The monsoon that arrived on June 10th this year has claimed lives, destroyed properties and livestock, and impacted the socio-economic conditions of the country.
