Twelve people were killed in Nepal last week (21st June – 27th June) owing to monsoon-related disasters. Affected districts include Kapilvastu, Bardiya, Sunsari, Jajarkot, Pyuthan, Dang, Kaski, Lamjung, Morang, Jhapa, Rolpa, Dailekh, Tanahun, and other places in Nepal.
The monsoon entered Nepal on June 10th and spread throughout the country by June 24th.
June 21
In Kapilvastu, a 26-year-old woman was injured during a storm. In Bardiya, five people were injured—three males and two females—due to severe weather conditions. Additionally, a 42-year-old woman in Sunsari sustained injuries from lightning.
June 23
Floods in Jajarkot claimed the life of one individual who was fishing. Six others were injured as a result of the same flooding.
June 24
In Pyuthan, lightning injured one person.
June 25
Lightning incidents led to the deaths of two individuals: a 10-year-old boy in Dang and a 22-year-old man in Bardiya. Additionally, four people were injured: a 44-year-old woman in Kaski and a 36-year-old man in Jajarkot.
June 26
A landslide in Okhaldhunga resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to two others.
In Lamjung, an 18-year-old man died, and a 16-year-old boy was injured. Additionally, four people were injured: a 67-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and two male children aged 4 and 8.
Kaski witnessed the deaths of a 13-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, while a 27-year-old woman was injured.
Similarly, floods in Morang caused one death, while a 60-year-old and a 30-year-old went missing. One individual was also injured in Morang.
Lightning incidents in Jhapa resulted in the deaths of two men, aged 42 and 46. In Sunsari, a 30-year-old man died, and a 52-year-old woman was injured.
Rolpa experienced the deaths of two females, aged 22 and 14. In Dailekh, a 55-year-old man and a 22-year-old pregnant woman were injured because of lightning.

A landslide injured a 41-year-old woman in Kaski. Floods claimed the life of a 45-year-old man crossing a bridge in Morang. Lightning incidents injured a 40-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman in Okhaldhunga, and a 71-year-old man in Lamjung. In Tanahun, a 19-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were injured due to lightning.
