On Tuesday, 83 new coronavirus cases, including two in Bhaktapur and one in Kathmandu, were reported.

The Ministry of Health and Population announced 57 new coronavirus cases in mid-day while 26 more cases at late night yesterday. Among the new 26 cases, 18 people are from Parsa, 2 each from Mahottari Dhanusha and Bhaktapur and one each from Kathmandu and Sarlahi.

The three persons from the Kathmandu valley confirmed to have been infected with COVID-19 are admitted to the isolation ward of Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku.

Among the two infected from Bhaktapur is an Armed Police Force (APF) personnel and a nurse working at Pulchowk-based Nidan Hospital whereas the one from Chandragiri in Kathmandu is said to be a homemaker.

According to reports, the 27-year-old APF personnel was earlier deployed for security of former Deputy Prime Minister and NCP leader Bhim Rawal.

The 25-year-old nurse had come to Bhaktapur from Sunsari district in a motorcycle and was living with her roommate in Nayathimi, Bhaktapur as per Bhaktapur Chief District Officer, Humkala Pandey.

Meanwhile, Nidan Hospital and Arogya Foundation, both institutions in the same building, have been sealed to prevent further spread of the virus.

The 33-year-old woman from Machhegaun, of Chandragiri in Kathmandu, had come to Kathmandu from Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur only a few days back.

Similarly, The 45-year-old male from Sarlahi, on the list of 26 infected people made public by the Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday night, is a resident of Haripurwa-3, Sarlahi and is kept at isolation in Janakpurdham.

According to Sarlahi Chief District Officer, Mohan Bahadur GC, the infected is also suffering from a mental illness.
