Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched e-SIM service from today, 16 September 2022. Customers with a phone that supports e-SIM can enjoy the new technology which is available from Sundhara counter of NTC Telecommunication Office.

E-SIM is a type of electronic (embedded) SIM that allows you to use cellular services without using a physical SIM card. Nepal Telecom (NTC) has started distributing these eSIM cards for free of cost to its customers.

However, many customers had to return empty-handed on first day of these virtual SIM cards’ distribution as there was quota of only 50 sims for today.

Many customers with mobile sets that support e-SIM are looking forward to getting their hands on this latest technology. Existing customers of NTC who have mobile sets that support e-SIM will have to fill and submit the required form to get that SIM.

Apart from mobile sets, e-SIM can also be used in other devices such as smartwatches. The company’s customers who are currently using physical SIMs can change their postpaid and prepaid SIMs to free e-SIMs, according to NTC.

Similarly, the company’s representative Mr. Shovan Adhikari announced that customers wanting to get a new postpaid sim will be provided with an e-SIM at the current selling price. However, new customers wishing to get a prepaid eSIM will have to wait longer.
