Kathmandu, September 7

A complaint has been filed against the Nepali national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane, under the charges of a rape of a minor.

A complaint was filed at Gaushala Police Circle alleging that Lamichhane had raped a 17-year-old girl.

According to the case filed, police said, the incident took place on August 21 when Lamichhane reached the victim’s hostel in a private car to pick her up and went to Nagarkot. Her hostel had a curfew of 8 pm, of which she had informed Lamichhane, but he ignored it and the duo came back to Kathmandu at 10 pm only.

The duo then stayed at a hotel where she said that she was raped twice that night.

Police conducted a medical examination on the victim on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, on August 22, Lamichhane left for Kenya to play in the Twenty20 series.
